Iceland, 12-18 May 2023
Application deadline: 10th of April 2023
ActInArt invites students to apply for the 7th edition of our intensive course, this time in beautiful Iceland. The course will be hosted by the ActinArt network and Studio Handbendi.
Social systems, including the cultural sector, work the way they do because of how we people are embedded in them. It is important to realise that a real system change comes from a personal journey that includes artistic growth and personal development, therefore, can be the basis of a greater change. This means that by developing the professional, personal and interpersonal capacities necessary for participating as professionals in the cultural ecosystem, we can make meaningful progress towards the deep change around us.
This intensive course will offer the student a framework to develop the skills necessary for deepening their artistic practices in alignment with the change and progress that the world needs now.
For five days, we will engage in a tight-knit innovative artistic laboratory involving a wide range of facilitative and learning methods such as workshops, lecturing, masterclasses, group work sessions, and open practices. We will collaboratively explore concepts such as artistic change agency, regeneration, social responsibility, building community, and strengthening relationships, all increasingly relevant to our artistic practices and challenges around us.
The program will provide participants/students with an opportunity to explore co-creative and immersive methods, reconnecting with nature (activewear required!) and with fellow (human) beings.
The course is organised by the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
